“the arts and sciences are completely separate fields that should be pitted against each other” the overlap of the arts and sciences make up our entire perceivable reality they r fucking on the couch

Art vs STEM is a lie created to stop us from turning on the real enemy: business and economics

Arts vs STEM is a lie, the computer that put us on the moon was a loom of woven wires, our space suits were made by hand sewing, we need chemistry to mix paint and we need biology to raise the sheep who make the wool we spin into yarn and crochet or knit or weave and the world is beautiful

I actually think the worst (best) thing about this scene is how Miranda’s glasses clip her necklace and she’s so focused on Andy she doesn’t even care. Like the movement is so-why is that scene so charged with sex??

Q

Fanfic writer asks #15. You write so many different types of fics wonderfully so I’m curious

A

Hello, thank you for question. It was interesting to think about so here is what I thought:

15. Is there any genre, trope, or style that you find particularly challenging to write? Do you enjoy the challenge or prefer to avoid it?

I think it’s probably 1st person POV - I just struggle with being so directly in another person’s brain (even when that person isn’t real), it just doesn’t appeal to me the same other POVs do. I much prefer coming from a place of all knowledge and controlling what is revealed to the reader rather than control over what the character knows. I hope that makes sense and I probably have written things that don’t follow this absolute but I simply do not vibe with 1st person POV.

Basically every Mirandy fic:

“(…) said Miranda, like a total bitch. Andy could have kissed her.”

This has a better three-act structure than some movies I’ve seen lately.

I appreciate this for being so over dramatic.

If you went to PUBLIC school in the US, did students have to recite the Pledge of Allegiance every day? How recently were you in public school?

Yes, we recited it daily; within the last 10 years

It used to be daily, but the policy changed while I was there; within 10yrs

No, we did not recite it daily; within the last 10 years

Yes, we recited it daily; I was in school 11–20 years ago

No, we did not recite it daily; I was in school 11–20 years ago

Yes, we recited it daily; I was in school 21+ years ago

No, we did not recite it daily; I was in school 21+ years ago

I don’t remember/other

I was never in public school (private school/homeschool/etc)
